The purpose of the CME Program at the Washington University IBD Center of Excellence is to facilitate learning opportunities focused on IBD. These CME opportunities provide continuous access to advancements in IBD care; assist health care professionals in maintaining and enhancing professional competencies; communicate new and best practices, and evaluate performances to improve patient care. These disease-specific CME programs reinforce the mission of the Office of Continuing Medical Education at Washington University in St. Louis.
The Continuing Medical Education program is designed to be comprehensive, evidence-based, and focused on core professional competencies. Content is developed and appropriate for all levels of health care team members, including allied health professionals; as well as health care professionals in training. Our audiences include local, regional, national, and international Physicians in practice, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Pharmacists, Fellows & Residents.
Live CME Events and regularly scheduled series formats are utilized to advance the goal of providing timely and informative educational approaches in support of continuous quality improvement in health care delivery. We offer different types of IBD specific Continuing Medical Education, at several times throughout the year.
Accreditation
In support of improving patient care, Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
