The overarching goal of our research is to identify novel ways to improve life for patients enduring these illnesses. Many of our faculty are not just clinicians, but they are also investigators. All of our research efforts are directed at improving the length and quality of life for patients affected by inflammatory conditions of the gastrointestinal tract.
Much of the basic and translational research conducted at the IBD Center is grant funded by the Department of Health and Human Services through the National Institute of Health and its subsidiaries.
Clinical research is ongoing at the IBD Center and is accompanied by clinical trials sponsored by both government and industry funding.
